How it all began

We didn’t set out to start a business together, but we did share something important: a growing feeling that the corporate HR world was no longer where we wished to invest our time.
 

After decades in senior roles, we’d both seen too much of the same, tick-box exercises, overcomplicated policies, and people being treated like problems to fix rather than human beings to support. We’d also each been through some big, personal life experiences, the kind that shift your perspective and remind you what really matters. Respect, Courage, Doing the right thing, even when it’s hard.
 

When we first worked together, we didn’t really plan on where that would lead us, but it quickly became clear that we were on the same page. We both believed that HR should be built on integrity, common sense, and fairness, not fear, control, or fluff. We challenged each other, backed each other, and found real trust in how we worked. That’s where the roots of Authentic People began.
 

A year later, we made it official. We built a business based on values we actually live by, honesty, practicality, and the courage to challenge what isn’t working.  We called it Authentic People because that’s exactly what we wanted it to be, real, human and grounded.
 

Today, Authentic People is a registered trademark and that means a lot to us. Not because it’s a legal badge, but because it protects what we’ve built: a way of doing HR that actually helps. A business that’s proud to stand for something and a place where leaders get the straight-talking, down-to-earth support they need to lead well.
 

This isn’t just our job, it’s ours and its authentically us… and we wouldn’t do it any other way.
